REMEMBER ABOUT YOUR PLAYGROUND CONTROLS!

The proper technical condition of the playground is extremely important for the safety of its users. Early detection of irregularities, damage, defects resulting from wear and tear or vandalism will prevent unwanted events or dangerous accidents.

Pursuant to the provisions of the PN-EN-1176-1 standard, in order to increase the safety of children on playgrounds, it is recommended that the owner or manager of the playground follow the recommendations of this manual and carry out appropriate inspections according to the following schedule:

1. REGULAR CONTROL

The purpose of regular inspection is to visually reveal obvious dangers that may be the result of vandalism, weather damage or litter in the playground (broken bottles). The check should be carried out at least once a week.

2. FUNCTIONAL CONTROL

Functional control is an inspection aimed at checking the functioning and stability of the equipment, especially its wear. The inspection should be performed quarterly. The subject of the inspection are: cleanliness, clearances between the device and the ground surface, condition of the pavement, exposed foundations, sharp edges, lack of structural elements, excessive wear of moving parts, completeness and compactness of the structure.

3. ANNUAL BASIC INSPECTION

The inspection carried out at intervals not exceeding 12 months is to assess the general safety level of the equipment, the condition of the foundations, surfaces, the influence of weather conditions, signs of decomposition or corrosion, as well as changes in the level of safety as a result of repairs or replaced components. Basic control should be performed by persons with knowledge of the applicable standards and appropriate experience.

We remind you that an important element helpful in carrying out the inspection is keeping the playground inspection book, which includes the date, comments and details of the person who performed the inspection.

The above procedures are the minimum necessary for children to play safely and carefree.
